THE HOMESMAN AFI FEST RED CARPET INTERVIEWS (Videos) – The AFI Fest continued with the premiere of the western drama The Homesman. Star Hilary Swank describes it as a “feminist movie” since all women can relate to how their gender is often objectified. Other cast members talked about their characters, working with Academy Award winners, and what audiences can learn from the film.
After being rescued by a claim jumper (Swank), George Briggs (Tommy Lee Jones) must help the woman escort three insane women from Nebraska to Iowa. During their journey, they face differences in opinions, American Indians, and renegades.
The Homesman is directed by Jones and also stars Grace Gummer, Miranda Otto, Sonja Richter, Hailee Steinfeld, William Fichtner, Meryl Streep, Tim Blake Nelson, James Spader, and John Lithgow.
PLOT: A claim jumper and a pioneer woman team up to escort three insane women from Nebraska to Iowa.
