3 DAYS TO KILL INTERVIEWS (Videos) – ScreenSlam discussed the upcoming spy thriller 3 Days to Kill with director McG and star Amber Heard. They emphasized the movie’s blend of action and comedy, the importance of close relationships, and the film being a fun movie experience for the whole family.
Written by Luc Besson, the film stars Kevin Costner as Ethan Runner, a very experienced and highly skilled Secret Service agent who spends more time killing enemy terrorists rather than protecting the President. When he realizes he is slowly dying, the Woman of the Secret Service (Heard) offers him an antidote, but only in exchange for one last mission. Without any other option, Ethan reluctantly takes the job, while he also tries to mend his bond with his teenage daughter (Hailee Steinfeld).
3 Days to Kill is directed by McG and also stars Connie Nielsen, Richard Sammel, and Eriq Ebouaney.
“I think what makes any story compelling is the human element that we all relate to, universal truths that we all connect with and care about. You can’t get people to empathize with characters just simply because they’re in speeding cars…and we do that by establishing recognizable human patterns like love and relationships…” – Amber Heard
“To me, I’m hoping that would be the defining characteristic of the film: the balance of action, humor, but really, story at its core. Sometimes, it’s drama, action, and humor are in collision with one another, and I hope that they are in concert together in this picture to make a complete movie-going experience.” – McG
PLOT: A dying Secret Service Agent trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter is offered an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment.
